The drive up to the Crystal Castle was one of high anticipation, as you meander through the countryside you realise there is something special about this land, this place, even before you arrive.
The Crystal Castle is a special place just outside of Byron Bay close to the quaint town of Mullumbimby in Northern NSW Australia. It is he proud owner of some of the largest crystals in the world and the trip certainly didn’t disappoint.
From the moment you enter the energy is just captivating. A delight for the senses where everywhere you look something new catches your eye. A place to truly marvel at the wonderous creations of nature spectacularly set amongst the lush tropical landscape. I begin to understand why they refer to this place as Shambhala.
There was so much to see and experience. From the enchanted cave to walking the labyrinth, the giant Buddha, fountain of peace, to a sound healing in the peace dome.
What I most wanted to experience was sitting in the amethyst geode they call the Dragons Egg. I was lost for words it was so incredible.
Then the pinnacle of the visit was the Crystal Guardians. We were so lucky when we visited, we had time to really take in the magnificence of these ancient beauties. Standing in their presence made me feel safe, connected, one.
My whole family was with me, and they were all simply amazed as the sheer size and scale of these monoliths as well as the incredible intricacy of the crystal structure inside. How they managed to get them here is nothing short of a miracle.
I feel so privileged to have had this experience together, even if the kids did prefer to play in the dragon guarded playground with milkshakes while mummy explored the gardens.
Some other lesser-known treasures I really connected with were the bamboo walk, it felt so peaceful, dark and mysterious. Like you had arrived at a special and secret location. Something I’d envisioned in a guided meditation perhaps. At its base was an incredible Sodalite one of two huge Sodalite stones (one raw the other polished) that just immediately drew me in.
There is so much beauty and energy to be found here. A gorgeous place to spend the day or the weekend exploring, reconnecting, and immersing yourself in nature.
